China is currently completing the six-year process of researching, working with the community in East Texas and writing Love Cemetery: Unburying the Secret History of Slaves (formerly titled The Keepers of Love), She's now working with  HarperSanFrancisco to prepare the book for its June, 2007 release.

China is also writing the new introduction to Longing for Darkness and working with Penguin on a new cover for the new edition which will also be released in June, 2007.

After a summer hiatus, the Circles of Love monthly gatherings in the Bay Area will resume in September. Check the Circle of Love Blog for updates.

During the last few months China's continued to be a long-distance member of the steering committee of the emerging Alliance for Truth and Racial Reconciliation. ATRR is being sponsored by the University of Mississippi's William Winter Institute for Racial Reconciliation.

China looks forward to sending out more news of the many essential work being done by friends here and abroad such as Mary Evelyn Tucker and John Grimm of the Forum on Religion and Ecology, who have accepted an appointment at Yale's School of Forestry, to give one example.
